During lockdown, neighbors were so generous in their giving of textiles for me to upcycle. During that time, I received textiles from the collections of several mother and grandmother's collections. I was making masks from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed, which didn't give me too much time to think about it at the time. But these days, I reflect on those beloved women whose textile collection is ending up all over the world and wonder what they'd think. I can only imagine they'd smile.
This upholstery fabric comes from one of those grandma's collections. I combined it with this fun custom "sassy, class, and a bit bad assy" fabric, and freehand machine embroidered roses on both sides of the upholstery fabric. The lining and wristlet are bedsheeting.
